www.agaliawamu.org::Purpose The purpose of Agali Awamu of Atlanta Association is to appreciate and nourish the cultural values of our heritage as Ugandan and Baganda people living in the United States of America. Members of Agali Awamu share common social, economic, and cultural values such as Togetherness (Awamu), Civility (Obuntubulamu), Development (Okulakulana), Culture (Eby'obuwangwa), and Belief in God (Katonda). We recognize that culture is an integral part of a human existence that requires conscious effort to protect and enhance. The members of Agali Awamu take pride in their Kabaka as the King of the Kingdom of Buganda in the State Republic of Uganda. Objectives 1. Network amongst members and associates and other groups to strengthen friendship and understanding. 2. Organize meetings and participate in conventions that foster culture and development. 3. Participate in philanthropic events that support schools and education; hospitals, health, and wellness; and other social needs of the underprivileged people in US and in Uganda. 4. Initiate and develop a program to assist small scale farmers in Uganda.
