ABOUT THE CAED With more than 1,900 students, Cal Poly’s acclaimed College of Architecture and Environmental Design (CAED) offers a unique blend of eight-degree programs in five closely related departments: architectural engineering, architecture, city and regional planning, construction management, and landscape architecture. For more than 70 years, the CAED programs and 16,000 alumni have been a positive influence on the forces that shape the planning, design and construction worlds. EXPERIENCE THE DIFFERENCE CAED programs promote Learn by Doing experiences that allow students to undertake sophisticated projects. CAED DEPARTMENTS Architectural Engineering - Prepares students for a professional career in the structural design of buildings. Architecture - Prepares students for entry into expanding professional global opportunities. City & Regional Planning- Prepares students for professional practice as community planners or private consultants. Construction Management- Prepares students for leadership positions in the construction profession immediately upon graduation. Landscape Architecture - Prepares students for professional careers dedicated to planning, designing, and managing landscapes.
