The Department of Energy and Environment conducts leading research in energy and environment as well as sustainable development, at the industrial, construction, and product scale, and at the global scale. Our focus is on experimental and theoretical energy technology research, as well as on development, implementation, and evaluation of methods and tools for analysis of technical systems. In addition, we conduct theoretical and applied research on complex systems, ranging from biochemical to social systems. We offer two doctoral programs, Energy and Environment, and Complex Systems.
