Merpati Nusantara Airlines is one of the state-owned airlines whose shares are 96% owned by the government of Indonesia. Established in 1962, Merpati has an operations center in Jakarta, Indonesia. Merpati Airlines flies pioneer routes in Papua, Ambon, Kupang. Includes domestic scheduled flights to Sulawesi, Bali, Lombok, Kupang and international scheduled flights to the East Timor area from its center at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. Merpati Airlines has also flown international routes such as: Los Angeles, Darwin, Cairns, Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Davao and Christmas Island.
