McElvaney Commons is located on the beautiful Southern Methodist University campus in Dallas, TX and is one of 11 residential commons at SMU. McElvaney (McE), which was founded in 1959 is home to just over 250 SMU students each academic year. Comprised of predominately first and second year students (with a handful of juniors and seniors), McElvaney residents have a multitude of diverse backgrounds and interests. McElvaney Commons allows students to explore their differences and similarities, while exploring and furthering their academic, social, and career goals.
