The Taiwan Academy of Periodontology is a nonprofit professional organization for periodontists - specialists in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases affecting the gums and supporting structures of the teeth, and in the placement and maintenance of dental implants and the treatment of peri-implantitis. The Academy now comprises more than 700 Active and Associate members. The mission of the academy is to promote academic developments in periodontal and implant education, research and practice, in order to improve nationwide periodontal and general health in Taiwan.
