The reality though is that young athletes receive 95%-100% physical and skills training and almost 0% mental. While we try to incorporate a certain level of mental preparation into what we do on the field with our athletes, this is something much more comprehensive. Mental toughness is NOT something you are born with or not! Either you are trained or untrained, that's it! Mental toughness is a skill set, just like anything else. And that is how we teach it. Just like in lacrosse, we do drills to teach skills, to build a skill set. And that is how we train Mental Toughness. We teach the following skills in either one on one coaching sessions or in a group format.
