The Model United Nations Society Passau is an accredited student group at the University of Passau which offers students the opportunity to gain insights into the process of the United Nations bodies. In weekly simulation sessions, delegates discuss issues of international relations and its dynamics by taking the roles of representatives at the United Nations and other international bodies. This also includes the writing and negotiation of draft resolutions. By that, students get prepared for MUN conferences in Germany, Europe and worldwide. MUN Society Passau has already attended many international conferences (e.g. Harvard WorldMUN) and also hosted conferences in Passau in the past. MUN helps students to improve their English and rhetorical skills as well as diplomatic and leadership qualities. By preparing for MUN sessions, the students deal with various topics, perspectives and their backgrounds. Furthermore, MUN is an opportunity to establish networks and friendships all over the world. The Model United Nations Society Passau is supported by the Professorship of International Politics at the University of Passau.
