Our name has changed, our purpose hasn't. OUR HISTORY TMS Clinics Australia (TMSCA) was founded in 2017 by Professor Paul Fitzgerald and Dr Ted Cassidy, to provide patients with access to a well- tolerated and effective outpatient treatment to help more people recover from mental illness. TMSCA was built upon the mission to help more people recover from mental illness. Through our journey, we have seen access to rTMS treatment expand as we reached the major milestone of a listing on the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) However, to further our mission means we need to expand access to more next-step treatment options. WHERE WE ARE NOW The Monarch Clinic Australia, a division of Monarch Mental Health Group, is building on the work of TMS Clinics Australia, by expanding access to treatments including neurostimulation, novel drug treatments, and more. Monarch Mental Health Group includes The Monarch Clinic and Monarch Research Institute. The Monarch Clinic is a psychiatrist-led clinical team including psychologists and nurses that deliver mental health assessment and next-step treatment services. It is how patients access our services and treatments. Our work is informed by the ongoing research conducted by the Monarch Research Institute. The Monarch Research Institute, led by Professor Paul Fitzgerald, is the engine to the Monarch Mental Health Group. This extension pursues the discovery of new frontiers within the Australian mental health landscape and forms the evidence-based foundations for emerging treatments and patient experiences.
