In geophysics, we are specialised in an emerging non-invasive geophysical density-imaging method called muography. This innovative method detects atmospheric muon particles and measures their attenuation in rocks. Muons are heavy electron-like subatomic particles that constantly emanate from the upper atmosphere with relativistic speeds and energies as a by-product of bombardment of the air nuclei by high-energy cosmic rays.
