School Radio, is an online radio for children and youth. School Radio is Pre-Incubated at NSRCEL-Indian Institute of Management-Bengalore (IIM-B). Children and youth create their own content on School Radio by attending the three days training module. This process enhances their self learning and ability to crate content of their own choice which is close to their heart. In the process of creating content, each child does a lot of research at primary, secondary and tertiary levels. To create programmes they discuss with peers, teachers, elders, and refer to books and internet to gather information, knowledge, skills, beliefs and values around the topic they have chosen. School Radio gives them an opportunity to explore their hidden inherent talent. School Radio believes that each and every child is unique and they have inherent skills, talent and knowledge. As elders, we are conditioning the minds of children and youth to behave in a particular way. School Radio mentoring process enables and empower them. They become confident in the entire process of creating content. They work in teams, learn from each other, understand practically how to build teams, resolve conflicts and get success in their collective journey. They learn everything related to Radio Broadcasting. By participating on School Radio, children and youth develop 21 century skills, STEM mindset, empathy, human values and systems approach in finding solutions and they become responsible citizen. They can understand how many different careers are available in media houses after attending School Radio workshops. They can choose their careers in STEM, as story tellers, book readers, content creators, content editors, sound engineers, audio editors, programme executives, news readers, anchors and also they can become freelancers, independent journalists, development journalists and entrepreneurs. www.schoolradio.in
