CREW ASSIST is a not for profit task force organization established by shipping industry players in Hong Kong, which has its roots in shipping history, and whose mission is to help address problems in the shipping ecosystem and to help locate solutions. The COVID-19 pandemic has led to CREW ASSIST taking a prominent lead on the social impact of the plight of seafarers but the mission extends to multiple issues such as cyber risk at sea, climate change issues and new insurance solutions.
