Serving PreK - 8th grade. Gold Coast Prep (formerly Chicago Grammar School) challenges children to think. The students work hard and are genuinely, actively, and joyfully engaged - there is no passive learning here! Our Classical Curriculum is designed to train skills in critical thinking and provide a broad base of knowledge resulting in cultural literacy. Gold Coast Prep combines the rigor of traditional learning with the creativity of progressive practices: project based work that integrates science, literature, history and the arts, is complemented with explicit instruction in reading, writing and math. Our Preschool (full day and half day) is inspired by Reggio Emilia approach. This program is well designed for the academically talented or gifted student.
