WebSeries Canada is an association of Canadian web creators advocating for each other and a better digital media world. We're proud to support and promote the needs and activities of independent, creator driven and audience focused web projects. We seek to inform stakeholders and build relationships to help create better frameworks for people to access a democratized digital media ecosystem. Canada is a hotbed for independent web series. Canadian creators are deeply connected to their audiences and working outside the traditional entertainment industry, often with an entrepreneurial spirit. Collectively, our members' series have racked up tens of millions of views, and many awards from around the world and in Canada, which is the world’s largest consumer of online video. Fomerly known as the IWCC, WebSeries Canada was founded in 2013 by a group of Canadian web series creators who believe that working together, sharing information and supporting each others' work is the only way to master this new entertainment form and to build an industry around it.
