Chinook Landscape Architecture, LLC
www.chinookla.comChinook Landscape Architecture, LLC is a locally owned landscape architecture firm with a specialization in environmental restoration and reclamation projects. Founded in 2017, Chinook prides itself on working closely with clients to develop unique and creative solutions to complicated projects throughout Colorado. Often, this involves working with emerging technologies such as mobile GIS collection methods, 3D modeling and rendering, and drone data collection. Chinook embraces these technologies and its founder, Jon Altschuld, regularly presents and teaches at universities, conferences, and trade shows. Chinook works on a wide range of projects, including a large-scale floodplain restoration and passive recreation demonstration project along Big Dry Creek northeast of Denver, low-impact trails along sensitive riparian corridors, and 3D graphic studies for a major interchange project in Colorado Springs. Leading the way for emerging technologies, we are also using drones to collect 3D data of rockfaces along I-70 to improve rockfall safety, as well as teaching landscape architecture students about the use of these emerging technologies in the industry. Through all of these projects, Chinook strives to create stronger connections between people and places, particularly environmentally important ones. As a company, we believe that we have a responsibility as landscape architects to create sustainable designs that allow future generations to continue to enjoy and experience the unique ecosystems and environments that Colorado has to offer.
