The Simbiente’s concept was created in 2004 with the establishment of a spin-off company from the University of Minho (Portugal), aimed to work on the interface between research and the market in the areas of Environmental Engineering and Biotechnology - transforming knowledge in applied innovation and valuing it as an instrument for solving concrete challenges and needs. This context allowed us to incorporate the innovation in services and products associated with a set of subjects that represent nowadays our fields of work: >> Water Resources Management >> Waste Management >> Land Resources, Uses and Risks Management >> Environmental and Sustainability Assessment >> Ecosystems Valorisation and Conservation >> Research, Development and Innovation On the other hand, and despite the fact that the World is increasingly globalized, we still believe on the relevance of each case specificities’ awareness and of close contact with different realities, and so we have established two other companies in markets that we considered strategic for our activities: Simbiente Azores (in 2009) and Simbiente Chile (in 2011).
