It is a joint initiative of all three levels of government in Australia and was established by an Intergovernment agreement (IGA) signed by the Commonwealth, States and Territories on 1 March 1994. Our mission is to address issues of safety and health; amenity and accessibility, and sustainability in the design, construction and performance of buildings.
