Back in 2014, the 27th of February became a historic day for the NGO community worldwide. The only decentralized international day for NGOs, “World NGO Day - 27th February”, was inaugurated. Throughout the years, millions of people have been active on the World NGO Day in more than 89 countries and 6 continents.  “The tremendous work of NGOs around the world is needed more than ever today” 27th Feb 2020 by Ursula Von Der Leyen, President of the European Commission. “On this World NGO Day, we celebrate those who are working to build a better world. We celebrate those who work tirelessly for gender equality and education and to end hunger and poverty and keep our planet healthy” 27th Feb 2022 by The Honourable Harjit S. The “World NGO Day - 27th February” is overseen by the World NGO Day Foundation, a USA-based non-profit organization whose objective is to draw together a network of NGOs from around the world and raise awareness of the NGO [non-profit] sector. Today the World NGO Day Foundation is embracing the future! Our core mission is to become the first international platform to bring the NGO sector into the Metaverse and develop greater symbiosis between NGOs, Web3 philanthropy, and the Metaverse - to deliver a Learn2Earn Community, Certification Standard, and NGO Grants. Our goal is to bring 10 million NGOs into the Metaverse by 2030, unlocking a $528 billion in market opportunity - the predicted size of the NGO market by 2030.
