With almost 1000 members, our professional organization's strength is in its diversity and comprehensive approach to research administration. CARA provides a critical interface between all stakeholders in the management of the research enterprise. Founded in 1971, this national association is committed to: -Advancing the profession through advocacy and professional development; -Improving the efficiency and effectiveness of research administration at post-secondary institutions, hospitals, and other research-intensive organizations, centres and institutes; -Maintaining a strong presence and coherent voice on key issues relevant to research; and -Fostering collaboration with other organizations that are active in the research enterprise. CARA is governed by a volunteer Executive Board and is guided by our Strategic Plan. CARA also partners with other organizations to advance its objectives and increase opportunities for members. In Canada, one of CARA’s strategic partners is Network of Networks. CARA also works with international sister organizations.
