Enactus SRCC
www.enactussrcc.orgEnactus, formerly known as Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE), is an international non-profit organization present in 39 countries around the world, with over 67,000 students as active members. Enactus brings together a diverse network of university students, academic professionals and industry leaders around the shared mission of creating a better and a more sustainable world. Since its inception in 2007, Enactus SRCC has undertaken several community outreach projects as part of this shared mission. Of the 14 projects till date, 12 have been successfully completed and 2 are ongoing. Our running projects are 'Asbah' and ‘Virasat’. Project Asbah, meaning purity, strives to develop the rural and urban slums of India through harnessing contaminant specific water technologies to provide clean drinking water, a basic necessity which millions of citizens lack as well as developing the health, sanitation and cleanliness of these areas. Project Virasat is an umbrella organisation that aims to revive the age old craft-forms of India. Under Project Virasat, we have established P-TAL in an effort to revive the dying art form of handcrafting copper and brass utensils using hammering techniques, by mobilising artisans and providing them access to organised credit, contemporary designs and better demand avenues.
