It had its start in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, as a branch of m5 Marketing Communications. m5 Public Relations, or m5pr as it became known, attracted clients from the oil and gas, mining and public service sectors, such as Aberdeen-based PSN (Production Services Network), Atlantic Lottery Corporation, Iron Ore Company of Canada, Marine Atlantic and Suncor. In a short period, the company grew to full capacity in St. John's, with a suite of consultants; meanwhile, it expanded into the Halifax and Moncton marketplaces and became Cape Consulting Group. Today, m5 Public Affairs is the only firm of its type with offices in each province of Atlantic Canada, with a broad base of consultants throughout the region. Our reach goes national and international, but at home in Canada we work closely with our partner H+K Strategies Canada to provide service coast to coast. m5 Public Affairs was founded on the premise that there was a need for professional corporate counsel, public affairs, and consumer public relations expertise specifically in the Atlantic Canadian marketplace.
