Hitachi Communication Technologies America, Inc. (Hitachi CTA) provides communications equipment and solutions for network operators in the Americas. This division was created after acquisition of Nortel Packet Core group in 2008. Hitachi Communication Technologies American Inc. (Hitachi CTA) was divested and all its software assets were acquired by Affirmed Networks in 2016. Markets and technologies include Evolved Packet Core and Small Cell technologies for LTE wireless networks, fiber optic transport, data center networking (Hitachi CTA is a networking partner of storage leader Hitachi Data Systems), and middleware supporting machine-to-machine (M2M) services, applications deployment and lifecycle management for vertical markets such as service provider subscriber apps, retail displays, connected vehicle, smart grid and telehealth. Customer categories include wire line and wireless telecommunication service providers, cable TV MSOs, power utilities, and other industrial, commercial and government entities.
