Mi Cuerpo es Mi Historia MCMH Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charity in the US partnered with its sister organization MCMH Foundation founded in 2014 in the City of Cali Colombia, by artists and humanists who promote art and the scene as ways for the potentialization of mental, spiritual, and physical health in the individual and society. We work through the performing arts, creative therapies, research, education and cooperativism. OUR HISTORY Our work begins with 2 projects: one that favored girls and adolescents with experiences of violence in the City of Cali, Colombia. Through dance therapy and group psychotherapy, this project is given the name "My Body is My Story" years later. The other project was born in the Pacific in Ladrilleros, the hearts and minds of Afro-descendants of the community are reached through salsa classes. Later, the training of salsa dancers in the psychological area is integrated, here is when the Salsa and Humanization program was born. Our methodology is based on the following concept: EMBODY refers to the experience of EMBODY, OR CORPORATE. The field of dance therapy has documented this concept within the therapeutic context in which the dance therapist accompanies based on in his emotional experience, from a kinesthetic empathic bodily phenomenon, feeling his own internal state. Neurosciences have found that THE MIRROR NEURONS are directly responsible for these phenomena. Thus the most empathic brains have particular dispositions and conformations in their structures where the action of various neurotransmitters and hormones occurs. TRAJECTORY Our methodology is “a transcendental artistic experience that bets on the capacities of resilience and empowerment of the human being”.
