Wooling Hill Memorial Estate
www.woolinghill.com.auWooling Hill Memorial Estate is a premier provider of cremation memorial spaces, as well as a beautifully presented venue for funerals, memorial services, and family celebrations at a stunning location in the Macedon Ranges Barringo Valley on the edge of Melbourne. This well established and meticulously maintained memorial park is located on Barringo Road in New Gisborne. The property itself predates the establishment of Gisborne and consists of 16 hectares of well-groomed lawns and gardens, with extensive grounds consisting of immaculate lawns, mature trees, and shrubs coupled with lakes and water features. The European style gardens boast an extraordinary collection of exotic plants along with thousands of mature trees and breathtaking views around the Macedon Ranges. There are eight lakes, waterfalls, a rose garden, an atrium with water feature, and a small vineyard that produces shiraz and chardonnay grapes. Four of the eight lakes plus a bore and seasonal creek provide plenty of water for the gardens. A sealed asphalt road leads from the front gate at Barringo Road to the homestead and provides access to multiple car and bus parking spaces for up to 156 vehicles. In early 2020 Melbourne funeral directors, Troy and Liddy Upfield purchased the estate and continue the work by its past owners. Plans are underway for a new Chapel, Arts and Culture Centre, and further reflection spaces around the lake. The Robertson family established the estate in 1840 – it was one of the earliest settlements in the district. As the Robertson children had families of their own, Wooling Hill came to resemble a small village that overlooks the Barringo Valley towards Mt Macedon.
