ME–ST is a design research architectural practice based in Monterrey MX, founded by Djordje Stanojevic and Yessica Mendez, experts in computational design and digital fabrication. The office follows an interdisciplinary approach where projects bring together the knowledge of engineering, computational design, material science and novel digital fabrication processes. Complex geometries are applied on different scales, from industrial design to building scale structures, from conceptual stages to construction phase. The office research revisits architectural tectonics through computational models where intelligent algorithms are used to optimize form generation, integrating material performance, structural analysis including fabrication and assembly stages where aesthetics and functionality meet with twofold qualities. Furthermore the office is developing fabrication strategies through customised machines and CAM operations, including 6 axis robots, 3D Printers and CNC routers allowing the production of a wide range of unique pieces, while at the same time gaining cost-effective results.
