About SailCoach was the brainwave of Trevor Millar in 1995. In discussing the idea with his former athlete James O'Callaghan the idea was further developed through the Trinity Business School, Dublin. The company was incorporated in 1996 with the aim of creating a coaching organisation that would help sailors from all parts of the globe to pursue their sailing goals and dreams and predominantly now our sailors are from the emerging sailing nations. However, our mission is about more than just silverware. The SailCoach philosophy is based on the development of the whole athlete, where success is defined as an individual realising their personal potential and developing life skills that will be of benefit beyond the realms of the boat park. In 2013 SailCoach moved it’s principal training base from the South of France to the Mediterranean island of Malta and from there a new chapter in it's history has been started. We work hard at “making you better” in the following ways: Training Camps & Clinics Our Clinics teach specific skills and techniques over a number of days, while BaseCamps provide sailors with the environment to reinforce these through practise over an extended period. Coaching Tours Coaching Support in Europe and around the world can greatly improve a sailors performance we offer support at many graded and youth events in the Laser Standard, Radial and 4.7 classes. Expert Coaching With a combined experience of 17 Olympic Games sailors have access to a variety of coaching techniques that you won't get anywhere else. Whether you are a young sailor with an Olympic dream or a Laser Master looking to get better, we have something for you. We have taken good club sailors from Optimists, Lasers and other boats and made them into Olympians. We have also helped others at all levels in our sport to become better racers with great life skills. Come and share our passion and enthusiasm for racing small boats.
