The Mississippi Polymer Institute (MPI) was established in 1993 with the goal of growing high-tech polymer and polymer-related industries in Mississippi. Serving as the outreach component of the School of Polymers and High Performance Materials at The University of Southern Mississippi, MPI has played a key role in growing the state's multibillion-dollar-per-year, high-tech polymer industry, and has directly assisted in the creation of thousands of jobs. With a state-of-the-art laboratory and offices at the university’'s incubator, The Accelerator, MPI remains focused on providing world class support and services to companies worldwide. These services include physical and analytical testing and analysis, workforce development in areas such as high performance composites, 3D printing and CAD services, and direct technical consulting and commercial development.
