Kolej Poly-Tech MARA Bangi (KPTM Bangi) or formerly known as KYPM Bangi was founded in 1988. KPTM Bangi is one of the branches of Kolej Poly-Tech MARA (KPTM), formerly known as Kolej Yayasan Pelajaran MARA (KYPM) was established as a private higher educational institution under the Private Higher Educational Institutions Act 1996 (Act 555) in September 2003. Managed by Kolej Poly-Tech MARA Sdn. Bhd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA). Remarkably, KPTM Bangi offers several programmes for undergraduates at the diploma and bachelor's level. The partnership with Dublin Business School (DBS), Ireland in October 2014 to conduct the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Accounting and Finance program was another bold step taken by KPTM Bangi to internationalize its academic program structures to benefit students in the long run. Besides that, this collaboration is hoped to bring more benefits to the students, and indirectly earn global acknowledgement. KPTM itself has grown over the years to be among the biggest Bumiputera private educational institution in Malaysia with more than 17,600 full time students spread over nine campuses in Kuala Lumpur, Bangi, Kuantan, Batu Pahat, Ipoh, Alor Setar, Kota Bharu, Semporna and Kesedar, Gua Musang.
