Sogang University was established in year 1960 by the Catholic Society of Jesus that has the tradition of 460 years and aims to nurture talents who seek qualitative academic excellence and to practice love for others with high morality, following the educational ideology of the Society of Jesus, which is ‘to devote lives for others.’ Sogang University established “Vision 2035 – Special Sogang” and is making an effort for “Sogang University to leap forward together with New Sogang Community” through 5 core areas of development strategy including “Strengthen Sogang University’s indigenous education, which is the whole-person education, enhancement of creative professor competence, finance expansion and strengthen industry-university corporation, initiative propulsion of internationalization and realization of customer satisfaction in university administration.”
