Jesus said that the kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about thirty kilograms of flour until it worked all through the dough. This is a picture of the church permeating the wider community silently, imperceptibly, yet as an agent of organic influence. Christians are called to be agents of grace and light through our churches. Yet, the challenge we face is that over the next 30 years Sydney's population will stretch north west and south west. We expect 1.5 million people to settle west of Parramatta in new communities. At current rates these new communities will only have one church per 100,000 people. This is a challenge that needs to be addressed by careful planning, faithful prayer and strategic giving. New Churches for New Communities exists to support new churches which are being planted in these new growth corridors of Western Sydney.
