OUR MISSION | ACI builds equity and inclusion in and through the arts. OUR VALUES| At the core, we believe that: 1) art is a human right and therefore must be accessible to all 2) racism and oppression, in any form, is a breach of human rights 3) art serves as a conduit for cross-cultural understanding, deep and meaningful learning, creative expression, and community building, making it an adaptive tool for social change 4) change must be fostered at a community contextualized level to be effective and sustainable 5) systems of oppression permeate conscious and unconscious thought making it imperative to collaboratively work towards equity OUR APPROACH | Since our founding (2014) we have focused on four core areas: 1) Sector Supports: Cultural Equity Learning Community (CELC), anti-racism and anti-oppression consulting, Cultural Equity Incubator 2) Community Convening: ongoing artist and community led events, annual Arts Equity Summit 3) Leadership Nurturing: artist leader ripple grants, DIAL program with AFTA, Youth United Artists, fiscal sponsorship for creatives 4) Community Driven Research: empirical publications, community and arts based research, upcoming institute launch
