Liverpool Homeless Football Club is an organisation that uses football to improve the Health & Wellbeing of homeless people in Merseyside. The club deliver football programmes that are well organised and easily accessible for anyone who is suffering from homelessness. Since establishing in 2007 we have engaged with over 600 men and women who are living on the margins of our society. We currently run three programmes: > The Homeless League (5-a-side - men only) > Women's Weekly training. > Men's 11-a-side team Football is the main incentive, but our main aim is to improve Health & Wellbeing through regular sporting activity. We measure improvements in physical fitness, mental wellbeing. At our events we offer basic health checks and promote healthy lifestyles. Our secondary aim is to increase the social capital of our players. This involves measuring improvements in confidence, their new social networks, better relationships with key workers, their reduction in anti-social behaviour and the access to new social development opportunities such as training and education etc. We work in partnership with 20 homeless organisations across the region. We are run solely by volunteers. We are looking for financial investment and strategic partners to help deliver our core aims. Please contact us for more information.
