Every year, we lose 400 doctors to suicide. Those are only the numbers we know about. It may be far more. We are losing some of the most important members of our communities to an epidemic so wide-spread, the medical community itself doesn’t know how to deal with it. The Medical Moguls Wellness Project is a Foundation with the mission of educating and advocating for the mental health care of medical physicians, including: • Attention to and caring for the mental well-being of medical physicians. • Increasing awareness on the importance of mental health care for medical physicians. • Advocating on behalf of the medical physicians who have committed suicide and helping their families and medical colleagues choose a different path forward. Our goal is to make it easier for physicians in mental crisis to get the help they need and to reduce the stigma surrounding doctors having mental health issues. We are working to change the culture within the medical profession by partnering with other organizations who are addressing the problem of physician suicide in order to create a direct impact on public policies involving mental health services for medical professionals. In addition, we will provide fully qualified, anonymous mental health services for doctors in crisis. We hope you will help us with this endeavor.
