Leicester Animal Aid is a dog and cat rescue and rehoming Centre based just outside of Huncote in Leicestershire. Founded in 1956 by Dorothea Farndon, the Charity (Registered No. 242560) has been helping dogs and cats that are lost, abandoned, unwanted and those whose owners can no longer care for them for over 60 years. Leicester Animal Aid is a Member of the Association of Dog and Cats Homes (ADCH). We rely on the generosity of individuals, businesses, community groups and charitable trusts to be able to continue to care for over 500 animals each year and does not receive any Government funding. All dogs and cats receive a full veterinary health check on arrival, vaccinations, microchips, any veterinary treatment they require including flea and worming treatments along with a behavioural assessment. Our focus at the Centre is on enrichment activities to improve mental and physical wellbeing and help to get our residents ready for their new homes. Visit www.leicesteranimalaid.org.uk/enrichment to find out more. Launched in 2016, the Charity also runs a Community Pet Support Scheme, helping to keep owners and companion animals together for as long as is mutually beneficial. We provide free support with exercise, vet visits and grooming to those who are elderly, physically disabled and struggling to care for their companion animals in Blaby, Hinckley & Bosworth and Oadby & Wigston. Visit www.leicesteranimalaid.org.uk/cpss for more details. Find out more about our work and animals looking for their forever homes at www.leicesteranimalaid.org.uk
