Peace Watch Switzerland selects, trains and sends voluntary Human Rights Observers to Honduras and Palestine/Israel. Working with our local partners, our volunteers offer a protective international presence to civil populations upon their request. Sending international observers in crisis regions appeared to be an effective way of accompanying people who engage in a peaceful way for social justice and for the preservation of rights guaranteed by their own country's constitution. Furthermore, the presence of educated foreign eyewitnesses prevents violent aggressions to be silenced.
