Established in 1956, KHAMISANI SONS started its operations from a small rented room in a hotel. The late Abdul Quadir Khamisani (1935 – 1987) and his brother, the late Abdul Jabbar Khamisani (1937 – 2017) worked their way up as sub-agents, and within a decade, earned the distinction of being the only agency to simultaneously receive approval for both travel & cargo operations from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in 1966. In 1970, the late Abdul Quadir Khamisani became a founding member of the Travel Agents Association of Pakistan (TAAP); TAAP has since become a regulatory body for the travel industry in Pakistan. He was also involved in the formation of the Cargo Agents Association of Pakistan (CAAP). In 1979, the late Abdul Jabbar Khamisani became one of the youngest persons ever to be elected President of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce. Having presided over a number of mercantile and welfare organizations, he was a prominent businessperson, and was a well-known social figure in Karachi. His involvement with various social and welfare organizations earned him the privilege of serving the Sindh Provincial Council in 1988. Furthermore, the British Society of Commerce & Chartered Institute of Transport recognized him for his long service to the travel trade with a fellowship from their prestigious institute.
