One Island One Heart is a non-profit organization based in Buffalo, NY supporting communities in the Dominican Republic and Haiti. OIOH's goal is to provide human-centered design support for social innovations in order to create sustainable change throughout the island. One Island One Heart started it's work with a school-based partnership in St. Marc, Haiti. After visiting the school, founder Heidy Honrado decided to provide support to communities in the Dominican Republic and build a bridge between the two countries. OIOH's work in the Dominican Republic began in Imbert, Puerto Plata. Our work there is centered around community & business development, providing fundraising support and consulting services for the town's local school and neighborhood association.
