The diagnostic and interventional radiology department is the largest radiology practice in the Canton of Vaud with more than 250 employees serving patients and other healthcare facilities primarily from the Lake Geneva region as well as the rest of Switzerland. We offer consistent, high-quality services to patients and our partners thanks to our highly skilled group of physicians and professionals. As a teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Lausanne (UNIL) we offer high quality education to medical students, residents in general radiology and/or nuclear medicine as well as fellows in diagnostic radiology and interventional radiology and we receive radiologic technologists during their training. Our scientific activities involve internationally renowned research groups in different fields of Radiology but in particular in MR imaging with more than 40 full-time scientists in collaboration with the Center for Biomedical Imaging (CIBM), UNIL and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). Our department is organized into several specialized units based on organ/pathology and includes both diagnostic and interventional activities. This organization allows a better integration with clinicians and surgeons in the same respective fields offering patient-oriented diagnostic exams and interventional procedures.
