The Seoul Institute of Technology (SIT) was founded in 2018 as the first science and technology research institute by the Seoul Metropolitan Government. Its main goal is to become an innovative institute leading the future of Seoul based on comprehensive and systematic research on various technology policies related to city administration. Research areas include urban infrastructure, safety and disaster, living and built environment, smart city, atmospheric particulate matter, earthquake mitigation and data science.
