Meridian Engineers Pty Ltd began life in 1987 as a specialist consultancy service providing expertise in the fields of structural and mechanical engineering. Today, Meridian has established itself as a unique Australian company that offers quality in-house designed large scale weighing and loading products, combined with specialist engineering consultancy services. The multi-disciplinary team of engineers at Meridian have developed innovative products for industrial weighing and loading. Meridian has successfully completed projects that involve providing control systems to load 30,000 tonne iron-ore trains automatically, and then weighing them on the move at speeds up to 80 km/hr. The main products Meridian currently market are: 1) In-motion train weighbridge systems 2) Train Loading Control Systems for accurate mass loading of trains Our products are designed and manufactured by us. The products include our patented bolt-on load cell sensors that attach to railway lines to provide a weight indication when a train traverses the rail. Our bolt-on load cells are also attached to the train loading silos, so we can measure and control the amount of material loaded into wagons in real time. Our clients encompass all the major resource companies including BHP, RIO Tinto, Vale, FMG, Alcoa and freight companies such as Queensland Rail.
