The Polytechnic School of Architecture and Urbanism [EPAU] was created in 1970. Designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer, it is located in the town of El Harrach, east of Algiers. It reinforces the already established university center, which includes the National Institute of Agriculture, Veterinary School, Polytechnic and a University Campus. The school provides Architecture and town planning Master Degrees. Compared to universities in the same field, the EPAU is the only Algerian public institution that has kept a certain autonomy of management and programming.
