Society for Asphalt Technology

www.socsat.co.za

The Society for Asphalt Technology (SAT) is a learned society of individuals in the asphalt sector based in South Africa which also serves the interests of members in Lesotho, Eswatini, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia. SAT was inaugurated more than 25 years ago and many of our founder members are still active in the industry. We cooperate closely with the Southern African Bitumen Association (Sabita), which is an association of companies, in the interests of supporting and adding value to the asphalt industry in South Africa and southern Africa. SAT is committed to the advancement of technical and professional excellence in all aspects of the manufacture and use of asphalt and bituminous products. To provide a conduit between local practitioners and global technology developments, we maintain active associations with professional bodies and organisations around the world. SAT is a Section 21 Company operating both as a voluntary association and a non-profit organisation for the benefit of its members. SAT is also a Voluntary Organisation of the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) and members are entitled to claim one CPD point per year by virtue of their membership.
