OpenSeat adds much-needed capacity for K-12 schools, and in partnership with schools, serves as an extension of a school's social-emotional and counseling supports. OpenSeat provides students 1-on-1 virtual access to a diverse team of trained and supervised mental wellness professionals - including on nights, weekends, and breaks when students often need additional support. OpenSeat reduces the risk of academic, social, emotional, and behavioral challenges by intervening early and as a school and its students need. School counseling teams need more capacity - often only able to reach students on a caseload or in crisis. OpenSeat helps schools provide short-term interventions for frequently-unserved students who may be experiencing anxiety, bullying, relationship issues, self-doubt, motivational lapses, just need someone to talk to, or any number of short-term needs. Using OpenSeat's HIPAA-compliant app, students match with one of OpenSeat's diverse coaches who bring proven experience fostering culturally responsive and LGBTQ+ affirming spaces for adolescents.
