www.usciences.eduThe Industrial Pharmacy Laboratory (IPhL) has evolved into a full-scale research facility serving the needs of the current drug pipeline, including small molecules and proteins. IPhL utilizes the expertise and experience of its staff to collaborate, support development, and approach challenging projects in areas such as drug discovery, drug delivery, formulation, and protein research. IPhL has the ability to support preformulation and formulation of a number of dosage forms, including hot melt feasibility, tablets (uncoated and coated), emulsions and suspensions, ophthalmic and injectable solutions, lyophilized and spray-dried powders, nano- and micro-sphere systems, and lipid based formulations in a GLP compliant environment. The facility also has a number of analytical equipment for thermal analysis, HPLC method development, protein stability, PK/PD modelling, product characterization, morphology, and stability studies. Situated in the historic Philadelphia College of Pharmacy at USciences in University City, Philadelphia, IPhL is ideal for industry and academic collaborations with the Science Center and surrounding universities, such as Drexel University, University of Pennsylvania, and Jefferson University.
