Our preservation knowledge, research, expert resources, and inspiring educational experiences bring to life the remarkable stories of Greater Portland’s historic places. Landmarks manages the Portland Observatory for the city of Portland. Built in 1807, the Observatory is the last known maritime signal tower in the United States.
