www.vinyassociety.orgIntroduction Vinyãs Society was founded in 2012. It is registered to work as a Society under The Societies registration Act XXI of 1860 at pan Indian level. It is also registered under 12AA and 80G. Vision : Enriching Habitat for All, Responsibly, Innovatively Everywhere To contribute positively towards creating Habitats that are inclusive, functional, and are sensitive to users, heritage, environment, socio economic reality, bio cultural diversity, and aesthetics - as Architecture and Design Professionals, Domain experts and as individuals. Mission To engage in developing an enriched quality of process and end-product towards the development of social infrastructure for public utility, with ownership, user sensitive design across the country. This will be achieved through interdisciplinary work in the domain of design, research, capacity building, advocacy and policy support with communities and community based organizations like government, the media, national and international forums, prominent NGOs or other national and international agencies to reach out to large geographical area and people (also working through influencing the government). The founding members of the society are from seven Indian States, namely Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and come from diverse disciplines such as - Architecture, Archaeology, Conservation, Social Development, Science, Engineering, Economics, Media, Management, Public Administration, Finance and Accounts, etc. The activities of Vinyãs Society have so far focused on providing technical support to central and state governments for better planning, design, implementation and delivery of social infrastructure programmes in the spheres of : 1. Habitat development 2. Primary Health Care. 3. Early Childhood Care and Development 4. Elementary School Education 5. Child's Rights, Protection & Care 6. Higher Technical Education 7. Housing 8. Heritage 9. Regional Planning
