Our mission at The Asian Roots is to empower Asian youth in finding peace and pride with their cultural roots, encourage engagement in societal issues, reconnect with AAPI history, and amplify the voices of those who need to be heard. From all the struggles to all the triumphs, we hope to create a safe space of collective healing where we can all further develop our own sense of who we are, what it means to be Asian American, and what we want to change in the world. As advocates of racial equity and justice, our “Activism” page is where we highlight other BIPOC voices, stand with the movement for Black lives, and challenge existing narratives about AAPI people by interviewing Asian change makers who "rock the boat." Our “History” platform is where we share stories from Asian American history. From senseless tragedies and landmark legislation to activists and scientists, we curate educational resources that underscore the diversity of the Asian community and the historical + ongoing significance of events. And lastly, our “Youth Voices” platform is a literary journal where we strive to celebrate the voices of Asian American youth and support them in their journey of finding peace and pride with their Asian roots. Our Instagram page is also a digital space where we people to take action and stay informed about the issues that pertain to our generation.
