We are the state’s largest supplier of STEM educators each year. We consistently rank as the top teacher preparation program in the state across multiple variables. And we have established a leadership pipeline for schools, community colleges, and higher education in North Carolina. We are the only college of education in North Carolina that addresses the needs of learners across their lifespan. We enroll over 1,500 undergraduate and graduate students, and our faculty currently engage in 139 research projects funded through nearly $54 million in active research and development grants. Through their research, our faculty are redefining principal preparation in the nation, examining digital learning in classrooms, attending to the STEM preparation of all students, and strengthening what we know about how to best prepare and support teachers. U.S. News & World Report ranks the college in the Top 15 percent nationally among graduate schools of education. The publication also ranks the college’s online programs No. 29 and higher education program No. 19 in the nation.
