Oswin Project
www.oswinproject.org.ukThe Oswin Project core aim is to create second chances for ex-offenders across in the Northeast and beyond. We provide training, mentoring and access to employment, offering the opportunity to develop new skills, attitudes, and ultimately a new way of living. We currently operate three main initiatives: -Supported Access to External Employers: providing CV development, help finding work (including through our network of employers), assisting with disclosures, and support accessing relevant training to secure work. -Café 16: which seeks to establish Cafés run by an experienced Manager and Assistant Manager, with the rest of the team consisting of ex-offenders. -Gardening & Maintenance: a team of ex-offenders providing landscaping, property maintenance, and painting and decorating services. Whatever the initiative, all ex-offenders are provided with a tailored package of support and regular mentoring to suit their needs and aspirations. The Project supports ex-offenders in North East England, by sourcing paid employment and apprenticeship opportunities. To ensure that clients receive the maximum benefit from their placements, the Oswin Project also supports its clients with mentoring and supervision. By the end of the client's apprenticeship period, which should be up to two years, they should have an excellent chance of securing long term employment. By supporting us, you are allowing us to break the cycle of re-offending by: - Providing support and mentoring leading to employment - Sourcing training and the opportunity to gain qualifications - Re-building confidence - Facilitating work experience - Encouraging social inclusion - Becoming a contributor to society rather than a dependent
