The oldest Grammar School in Upper Carniola established in 1810 and the first to use Slovene as the language of instruction. More than 13 thousand students have graduated throughout its long history with one of the highest average grades of any Slovene secondary school at the Matura exam. Gimnazija Kranj offers the National Gymnasium Programme and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
